Auto Accomplice is out now!

Auto Accomplice, a UE5 racing game created over the span over the past week for the DruidMechanics game jam, is live now! The theme of the jam is "You are not the hero", and there's been a lot of excellent ideas I've been able to see so far. Auto Accomplice involves you setting up your heroic teammate for success by taking out the remaining competitors by any means necessary- including physical combat and twin barrel bullets! I was able to complete two tracks for launch using the monthly free asset packs to my advantage, and you can select either vehicle from the unreal template to participate with. I spent way too much of my own time trying to set the best times for fun, so I hope everyone else enjoys it half as much as I did! Please let me know what you think and if you would like to see the idea of the game in a more fleshed out product.

My gameplay would not have been possible without an amazing Vehicle AI tutorial series from InsertNameHereGameDev. There are so few resources on AI with vehicles in unreal and he did an excellent job explaining his method of implementation, which works well for the purposes of this game.

Thank you to Stephen Ulibarri and the DruidMechanics discord, who have been extremely helpful in answering my questions and always friendly when providing support. Without Stephen's courses I would not be nearly as far as I have come with UE5 in the past few months.

If I had more time I would have liked to implement a few more things, such as better vehicle tuning, a droppable banana peel to make trailing vehicles spin, and a better camera control for panning and viewing what is behind the player. It's possible I might explore these things further in the future.
